Columbia Business School has announced a new customized executive education partnership with Deutsche Bank designed to deliver an “MBA-type” foundation to high-potential talent.  The two-week residence program will convene in New York City at the University’s main campus from July 23 – August 3, 2007 with an inaugural class of 110 participants from 20 countries. 

Signaling an innovative direction for custom executive education courses, the program is directed to a new audience, specifically high-potential employees between the age of 25 – 30.  Designed to strengthen technical skills, the program will focus equally on capturing opportunities through strategy and leadership. The intensive 12 – 14 hour day classes are delivered in four thematic modules:

  • Strategy from the Client’s Perspective – teaches client strategy communication and tools to understand how the company’s services can fit with a client’s strategic needs.
  • Advanced Financial Analysis – deals with advanced leverage and valuation issues, emphasizing application to transactions.
  • Macro and Capital Markets – topics include spotting trends and the current utility of primary instruments and derivatives in developed and developing markets.
  • Managing Internal and External Clients – focuses on skills needed to make promotional transitions relating both to external clients and working with colleagues.

The program also includes a practical component, aimed at getting students to apply course material to day-to-day transactions.  Participants who complete the program will earn the designation of Columbia Business School alumnus.  Emphasizing the program’s importance to and investment by Deutsche Bank, participants will join the company’s 2007 MBA recruits at its Associates Training Program in London beginning August 5, 2007.
