The continuing growth of executive programs in the Gulf region continues a pace. The latest development announced yesterday by INSEAD is a unique program designed especially for business women in the UAE. Clearly women's roles in the Middle East are less liberated than in most western countries but the opportunities and expectations are increasing rapidly particularly in the more free-thinking of the Gulf states.
To this end the enormous state conglomerate, Dubai World, established an investment company earlier in 2007 that focuses specifically on women's wealth and business opportunities. FORSA is "a company created by women for women".
As part of this focus FORSA has collaborated with leading European business school INSEAD, which has recently announced plans for an executive education centre of its own in Abu Dhabi, to run a year-long part-time Executive Management Program for Women to be run in Dubai. Six one-week modules will take place between February 2008 and January 2009, and participants will graduate with the world's only internationally recognised diploma degree for women in management.
The program is open to Middle East or GCCresident women with a degree and 4-8 years work experience - who are willing to pay the $48,500 fee. There is a class limit of 25 places. FORSA supports the program as
part of its commitment to the development of women business leaders, FORSA has developed the Executive Management Program for Women, in partnership with INSEAD. This program offers professional women in the region the opportunity to obtain a world-class management education putting them at par with business leaders globally.
