Rutgers Business School has launched its EMBA program in Singapore. Rutgers joins other leading global business schools such as Chicago GSB, INSEAD and ESSEC by having operations in Singapore and highlights the growing importance of post- graduate business education in the Asia-Pacific region. The Dean of Rutgers Business School, Dr Michael Cooper, says "We are committed as a business school to becoming an integral part of the business education system in Singapore, and we look forward to developing further relationships with companies and students alike."

The program launch, held at the Singapore National Library where the program will be based, highlights the growing importance of post- graduate business education in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Rutgers Executive MBA program is designed to provide managers with the theoretical tools, the practical insights, and the vital hands-on skills essential to compete in this challenging global environment. "The launch of the Rutgers Executive MBA program strengthens the educational linkages between the United States and Singapore," says US Ambassador to Singapore, Patricia Herbold. "Both countries recognize the importance of post-graduate business education programs in sustaining our competitive economies in the global marketplace. The Rutgers EMBA program here in the heart of the city will provide superb executive education for the business leaders of today and tomorrow."

Dr. Isaac Gottleib, Director of International Programs, Rutgers Business School, says that "the quality and diversity of Singapore's local business environment makes it an ideal location for a new campus to offer Asia's longest-running EMBA program.

The diversity of the student body is a key strength of the program, as students exchange their extensive business experience via collaborative learning processes." Teaching faculty for the Rutgers EMBA in Singapore are the same academics who teach at Rutgers' New Jersey campuses, providing students with leading-edge curriculum content, and unparalleled access to the top minds in business. The Rutgers EMBA program offers a global business education that encompasses proven concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as new ideas generated by the distinguished faculty. The program is tailored for busy executives, as such, classes are held on weekends and evenings To guarantee an education that is relevant, practical, and timely, the Rutgers EMBA is re-engineered every year.

"As the 8th oldest American university offering Asia's longest-running EMBA program, Rutgers is proud to build upon its rich history and embrace a promising future in Singapore's vibrant business and education communities," said Dr Cooper. The first group of students at the Singapore campus will commence the 15- month program in January 2008.
